Patties

1. Combine 1 lb (500 g) Medium Ground Beef with 1/4 cup (50 mL) EACH bread crumbs and minced onion in large bowl. Stir in 1 lightly beaten egg, 1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcesershire sauce and salt and pepper (as desired). Mix well.
2. Form into 4 patties, 3/4-inch (2 cm) thick.
3. Grill, broil or pan-fry using medium-high heat for 10 to 14 minutes, turning over at least twice during cooking until a digital thermometer inserted sideways into centre of each patty reads at least 160°F (71°C).

Meat Loaf

1. Combine 1-1/2 lb (750 g) Medium Ground Beef with 1/4 cup (50 mL) EACH bread crumbs, ketchup and minced onion in large bowl. Stir in 1 lightly beaten egg, 1 tbsp (15 mL) Worcesershire sauce and salt and pepper (as desired). Mix well.
2. Form into a loaf shape and transfer to lighty oiled casserol dish or foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Top with more ketchup or some barbecue sauce. Insert oven-safe meat thermometer into centre of loaf and bake in preheated 350°F oven for 55 to 70 minutes or until thermometer reads 160°F (71°C).
3. Remove from oven; let stand for 10 minutes; cut into thick slices and serve with glaze or chili sauce.
